Born Pretty Store – Nail Varnish in Purple

Today I have this beautiful shade of bright berry purple from Born Pretty Store to review for you all, item #35981, which you can buy here. It is a creme nail polish which goes on beautifully in 2 coats. Rather than give you guys a pure swatch of the product, I decided to see what else could be done with it – the mega question being, does it watermarble??? And yes, yes it does. It doesn’t spread very quickly though, but I believe that is because I used tap water instead of filtered water. It is also winter in Canberra so the ambient room temperature and relative humidity was a tad low when I attempted the watermarble. It would be nice to see how this performs on a hotter day or in a more humid place, like the bathroom whilst my boyfriend is showering teehehehe.
Anyway, I created 3 manis using this nail polish. I hope you guys enjoy them. Unfortunately, I only have 1 photo of each mani as I was rushing through the photo taking before my daylight disappeared!

Mani 1
Base colour = Born Pretty Store soak off gel polish in white
Watermarble colours = Sally Hansen *Midnight in NY*, Sayuri *Licorice Laces*
First up is the watermarble! I paired it with a beautiful dark glittery black and a light sparkly purple polish for good contrast. I added some glitter powder near the centre of each watermarble pattern (on the nail, not in the watermarble cup!).

Mani 2
Base colour = Born Pretty Store soak off gel polish in white
Gradient colours = China Glaze *Jungle Queen*, Sayuri *Licorice Laces*
Stamping polish = Hit The Bottle *Stop And Smell The Lilacs*
Stamping plate = Dream Girl-16
With the second mani, I wanted to see how the polish looked in a gradient and with stamping over the top. I think it works beautifully in this gradient.
bpsreviewpurplepolish2Figure 4. The purple varnish worked really well in a sponging gradient. Stamping over it with a light purple is also a very pretty combination that I think works really well.
Mani 3
Nail art decorations = Gold oval frame, small beads, pearls, all from Born Pretty Store
For the final mani, I decided to do a swatch with some bling. I blinged it up with some jewels inside a gold frame. I also accented one nail with pink/purple glitter powder. You might also notice some accents of cotton ball wool fluff, lol. Anyhoo, the born pretty glitter powder matches perfectly with this polish colour, as do the nail art decoration jewels.

So my overall impression of this polish is that it is of really good quality. The consistency was a nice thick polish but not goopy at all. It glides on smoothly on to the nail, partly thanks to the nice brush as well. The polish goes on in 2 coats and is incredibly shiny it didn’t need top coat. But I love the extra shine and protection so I added top coat to all these designs. This is the first bps nail varnish I’ve ever tried, and I have to say, it now won’t be the last time. I will buy more, and so should you guys 😉 Don’t forget to use my code to get 10% off full priced items CHEEK31. Love you guys, and have a lovely day. Mwah!!!
